"Blackbird Fly, Into The Light of a Dark Black Night" is inspired by the song “Blackbird” written by then Beatle Paul McCartney. Inspired by the Little Rock Nine in Arkansas, Paul McCartney wrote the song a decade later in solidarity with all black women in the Civil Rights movement .
