"Spider Woman"
"Spider Woman"
“Spider Woman” is a wisdom keeper and creator of all life in Hopi mythology. Spider Woman provided the first people with the skills they needed to survive. The spider is a symbol of the ability to weave and to create something from one's own body, just as a spider makes silk. Here she is shown as a youthful woman to symbolize new beginnings, a new life and the capacity to weave new worlds.
